It’s best not to pack too much into a single day in Warsaw. After your coach journey, allow time for collecting your luggage, using public transport and having a rest. You can visit the main sights in the city centre on foot.

Morning: The Old Town
Start at Castle Square, take a look at the Royal Castle from the outside and walk to the Old Town Market Square. From there, you can walk to the Barbican. Bear in mind the opening times of the museums if you plan to go inside.
Day: The Royal Route
From Castle Square, head along Krakowskie Przedmieście and Nowy Świat streets. The route features historic buildings, churches, the university and plenty of places to stop for a short break.

Evening: the modern city centre
You can round off the day at the Palace of Culture and Science or on the Vistula embankment — the choice depends on the weather and the departure point of your next journey. Don’t leave your return to the coach station until the last minute.
Practical tips
- save an offline map;
- check the latest public transport timetables;
- allow plenty of time before your bus or flight;
- don’t carry all your belongings around the city if there’s a reliable left-luggage facility.
