Krakow is easy to explore on foot: many of the famous sights are relatively close to one another. In two days, you can see the historic centre, Wawel and Kazimierz, whilst still having time for a coffee and a leisurely stroll.
Day one: The Old Town
Start at the Market Square, take a look at the Cloth Hall and St Mary’s Basilica, then walk along the Royal Route. It’s best to check ticket availability for popular museums and towers in advance on their official websites.
Wawel and the Vistula
From the city centre, head to Wawel Hill. Even without visiting all the exhibitions, it’s worth taking a stroll through the courtyards and along the Vistula embankment. Check opening times: they vary depending on the season and the specific attraction.
Day Two: Kazimierz
Spend the morning in Kazimierz, taking in the district’s history, synagogues, squares and small galleries. After lunch, you can cross the river to Podgórze or return to your favourite spots in the city centre.
