Article contents

When travelling within Poland, it’s handy to compare several options, but you should base your final choice on your schedule. The quickest option doesn’t always mean the most convenient arrival time.

    Before you buy

When searching on the Polish website, check the exact stations and the train category. If you’re choosing the Pendolino, read the terms and conditions specific to that offer, rather than the general rules for any regional train. Check your seat, any discounts and whether you can change your ticket.

    On the day of travel

Work out the journey from your neighbourhood in Warsaw to the station and from Kraków station to your final destination. For a day trip, check the return journey first. Don’t leave your return journey to chance, assuming there’ll be seats available in the evening.

    Checking your ticket

Once you’ve booked, check the passenger details, date, stations and all included legs of the journey. Save a full copy of your ticket offline. Prices and timetables are not specified in this guide: you’ll need to check the current options with the operator for your specific date.
