To ensure a comfortable journey, make sure the available journey fits in with your actual schedule. Arriving too early or returning at the very last minute can be more tiring than the journey itself.
How to check a journey for your chosen date
Compare the times, available classes and seats for your chosen date. Check the details of your departure and arrival stations. If you’re travelling with shopping or returning with a lot of luggage, bear this in mind when choosing your return seat and your route to the station. Unusual items may require you to check the rules on carrying them.
Plan for after you get off the train
Make a note of the final destination and any arrangements for meeting up. On the return journey, allow time not only for transport but also for packing your belongings. Before boarding, check the train number on the display board: your journey may be part of a longer route with a different final destination.
Before confirming your ticket
Open the official Ukrainian Railways (UZ) search tool and check the selected stations, timetable, passenger details and seat conditions. This guide explains the preparation process but does not replace the actual booking: you must check the availability of the service, seats and the final price for your specific date. Save the completed document before you leave home.
