On a long journey, comfort isn’t just about the class of carriage. It’s important to stow your luggage safely, have the essentials to hand, and plan your morning departure so you’re not in a rush.
How to check availability for your chosen date
In the search function, select a date and compare available seats with your own requirements. If you have difficulty climbing, don’t settle for an awkward overhead rack just to secure a booking quickly. Divide your luggage: keep your main suitcase separate, and put your documents and overnight essentials in a compact bag. Check the rules for non-standard items.
Plan for after you get off the train
Before arriving in Lviv, have your clothes and documents ready so you don’t have to unpack all your luggage at the station. Work out the route to your accommodation and how you’ll collect the keys. If you’re planning to take another form of transport, allow plenty of time and check that the pick-up point is actually near the railway station.
Before confirming your ticket
Open the official Ukrainian Railways (UZ) search tool and check the selected stations, timetable, passenger details and seat conditions. This guide explains how to prepare but does not replace the actual booking process: you must check the availability of the journey, seats and the final price for your specific date. Save the completed document before leaving home.
