A ticket refund involves cancelling a specific journey, not simply deleting a record from your phone. First, make sure you’ve opened the correct booking and check the amount to be refunded. This may differ from the full payment.
What determines the outcome
The terms depend on the time remaining before departure, the type of service, the reason for cancellation and the components of the payment. Ukrainian Railways (UZ) sets out separate provisions for voluntary refunds and cases where the carrier is at fault. Do not apply the old percentage table to any journey. Before confirming, check the current rules and the calculation for your specific booking.
Keep a record of the transaction
After cancellation, check the status of your ticket and keep the refund notification. Do not purchase a new journey on the assumption that the funds are immediately available: check with your bank to confirm the credit has been processed. If an online transaction is not available, find out the official procedure for making a claim, including the complaints process. Check international tickets separately from domestic ones.
