It’s easier to prepare from the moment you board the bus: visualise the action you need to take whilst on the bus and check that everything you need for it will be accessible. It’s best to sort out any issues with your ticket or booking before you set off, when you have a stable internet connection and time to check the details. Don’t make hasty repeat payments and don’t rely on just one email or screenshot.
What to do before your journey
Check the passenger’s surname, date, time, destination, booking number and payment status. Keep your receipt, confirmation email and booking page. If the details do not match, contact the seller via an official channel, quoting your booking reference, but do not send your full card details.

Step-by-step guide
Open the relevant file, settings or confirmation whilst you’re still at home. Give it a clear name, check that it’s legible and show your companion exactly where it’s saved.
Do not rely solely on email for critical information: the network or app may be unavailable at the very moment of the check.
