Germany is not just a single destination. Before you start your search, decide on your final destination and address, and then compare the routes to get there. A ticket that only takes you as far as a border crossing does not constitute a complete international journey.
Checking the route for a specific date
Check available departures from Ukraine and onward journeys, for example via the DB system for the German section. Do not automatically select the shortest connection. Compare the exact stations, local times and document requirements. If the fare is linked to a specific train, read up on the consequences of changing your plans.
Arrival and contingency plan
Check the regional section to your destination separately. The Deutschlandticket should not be regarded as a universal ticket for long-distance ICE services: its validity must be checked separately. Save all documents and the support contact details for each operator offline.
What to save before departure
Prepare your full tickets, station addresses and operators’ contact details offline. Check seat availability, prices and times using the latest search function: this guide is not a timetable. You must check your eligibility to cross the border separately, based on your own documents and circumstances.

Each leg of the journey, stations, local time, seat type and the terms and conditions for changing your plans.
