Before setting off, it’s worth checking not only the weight but also whether you can lift and stow your luggage yourself. A large suitcase may fit within your budget, but it can be awkward on stairs, in aisles and during short stops.
Check the category of your items
Check the current hand luggage allowances and rules for non-standard items in the carrier’s section. A bicycle, a pet or a bulky item may require special conditions, so do not treat them as you would a standard bag. If in doubt, have the dimensions and weight to hand so you can contact customer support before making a purchase.
Divide your luggage into two parts
Keep your documents, ticket and overnight essentials in a compact bag. Pack your main suitcase so that it closes securely and contains no loose items. In the carriage, do not block the aisle or exit, and place heavy items so that they stand upright. Labelling your luggage will help you avoid mixing up similar suitcases; there is no need for unnecessary personal details on the outside.
